Life Per Minute 19

‘The words have condensed into droplets, the weather made them ice,
Thoughts never became ambiguous, perspectives now have a price,

Some of it is said, while some stays hidden,
Oh wait, let me repeat that, ‘some of it was said, while some stays forbidden’.

When was this barrier formed, a barrier so thin yet apparent,
When did Manto’s revolutionary ideologies become opaque, as Rumi remained transparent,

Art was used to spread awareness, but gender and sexuality remain misunderstood relations,
Laws were then passed, still, why is there no room for this tender liberation?

We saw the power of the ink drying out of insanity,
How can we restore faith in something so intangible, something we called humanity,

Who is to be blamed for making grudges the weapon of man,
Where was the tolerance when we needed it? Where was it when it all began?

Expression, kindness and a little bit of compasssion is all that we need,
Paying people with dignity, as the trapped acceptance is freed,

If actions change the world, so do the words that define them,
Awaiting a time when the power of expression, is rather not a confined gem.’

Happy thinking!
Love and regards always ,
